HI Sharon,

Sooooo tell us how you liked the movie and how your experience at meeting up with other GALS went?

hugs,

Sue

Posted ImageYes, Sharon! We'd love to hear all about it! I wish I could have been there!

Posted Image everyone. I'm still here! Feeling better, but undergoing a full cardiology workup to try to rule out a cardiac cause for the episode I had last week. I won't bore you with all the details, but so far, all tests have been normal. I'm being fitted with a Holter monitor to wear for 48 hrs this afternoon and have another scan on Monday.

Now, enough about me! Carry on with the Gerry fun! Posted Image

Elissa...Keep us posted on updates on what the doctor finds. It sounds good so far but I'm sure you want answers to why you experienced what you did.

I heard from Barbara (lugerry) who went to the movie in NYC. She loved it and had a great time and enjoyed meeting Sharon. I can't wait until October!!

Sorry that I've been AWOL lately ladies. :hide: Just struggling through some issues in real life for the last week or two. I haven't really had much to say to anybody lately. I'm not really my chipper self right now but it will get better. It always does.

With that said, I want to let you know that I had a really nice time in NYC. I enjoyed meeting everyone. Thanks to Barbara and Barb for taking and posting the picture of all of us. I can use that to continue to learn the names and faces of those I met as I learn more about them on here.

The movie was cute. And of course Gerry was hot! I've told some people about it and they sound like they might want to see it. I know a friend or two will go with me! (and of course some GALS! Can we do a Philly, NYC or NJ get together to see it and OHF? Meet me in the meet up thread next month!)

I caught up on some more Gerry movies during my quiet time. Andre Marek and Attila- :drool1:

I cannot find "Polls"..........CM is still in second place at 15.7%, taken has 31.8%.

http://www.comingsoon.net/

BonnieBJ

The last time I voted, which was about 30 minutes ago, we were still in second place, but had moved up to 17.8%.

I saw the cardiologist today, and am happy to say that my test results were all negative except for one. It's related to high cholesterol and I'm being treated for that. Unfortunately, he put me on a weight-loss diet and exercise program. Bummer. But I'm feeling fine. Posted Image to everyone who prayed for me. I did an update in the prayer thread that Suzie started for me if you care to read the details of what the cardiologist had to say today.

Hugs to all!

Lady Elissa - thanks for answering my question re: Polls location. Hope you are doing well with your new exercise, diet, etc. I seem to have stopped the exercise completely - and increased the eating........oh, well.

Does anyone out there know anything about Lolita? It's been a long time since we heard/saw anything about her.

Posted Image Blue Jean! I'm just finishing up week 2 of my diet/exercise plan. The diet part is going really well, but my exercise plans have been derailed somewhat by rescuing a little abandoned 2 week old kitten. I'm a new mom again, getting up to bottle feed this baby every 3 hours around the clock. Once she gets on solid food in a week or so things should get back to normal. My daughter has been staying here to help out with the kitten. This all started when we rescued a litter of 5 kittens from drowning in our back yard during a heavy rain. The mama cat came and took 2 of the kittens with her, leaving 3 behind. We tried to save all three, but 2 of them died. Here are a couple of pictures of the baby who survived. Her name is Lottie. Regarding Lolita, I thought I saw pictures of Lolita from the set in Louisiana when Gerry was filming recently.

Hugs to all!

Oh, poor little kittens. Well, one of them is very fortunate that you were able to save her and, thank you, for being so kind to her. Little Lottie.

Thanks for responding about Lolita. I am the designated worrier - and I haven't seen a pic of her for such a long time. I'm sure Gerry makes sure she is well cared for. I have wondered why no one else has wondered! :bonk:

Bonnie, I have some adorable pics of Lolita taken by a fan on set of OHF. I can't post them here because they are the property of the fan but if you PM me your email address I will send them to you. Lolita is adorable in the pics.

Hey GALS! Long time no Gerry! Hope all is well with you all. Lots of things have happened in the past year and half I have been AWOL. Sorry about that. Most of you know about us losing our grandbaby Christmas of 2010. We all have since moved to paradise. I finally talked my husband into moving to the beach in Florida, so we moved to Cape Coral July 2011. This past May & July, both of the girls moved here too, so the family is back together. Leaving my Pookie behind in Tennessee was hard, but I know his sleeping spot will be well cared for by his Auntie.

My son in law, Mason's dad, is now a civilian worker overseas. He and my daughter Autumn have done well in their recovery of the loss of the baby, and have started rebuilding their family. I am excited to share that we are expecting a new blessing in January. Charlotte will be making her debut January 8, and I can not wait!

Mason will always be missed, and our hearts will always feel his loss, but we have learned that life must go on, and good things do come from sad events.

I was promoted to department manager at my job, and so far I love it.

How is everyone here? I truly have missed you gals. :)

This is so weird, I was thinking about you just yesterday and wondering how you were and here you are here today. I am so pleased to read your life has taken a turn for the better. I know how you suffered with the loss of your grandson. It is true that life moves on and memories of those we lose keep them close to us always. You have been missed so much around here. I hope you can come back to GALS more often now. I'll be wintering in Florida, as usual, by Orlando so I know how much you are enjoying Florida. Congratulations on the new granddaughter coming in January. What a way to start out a year! :) Also, congratulations in your job promotion. Yes, life does move on and there is a rainbow after the rain. Bless you and your family and may you always have much to be joyful about.

Drea! It's wonderful to see you here again!I'm so happy to hear that you will soon be blessed with another beautiful grandchild and that things are going well in your job. I know you will always miss your Mason, but I'm happy you and your family have begun to heal. I envy your home near the beach! I would love to live in a coastal town. After seeing Chasing Mavericks today, I'd kinda like to learn how to surf at my advanced age! Please don't be a stranger here! We've missed you!

Welcome back, Drea! You have been missed. Glad to hear you are all doing so well.

Elissa and I went through driving rain and high water to go see Chasing Mavericks yesterday. It was worth the effort. Awesome movie! Of course, Gerry in a wet suit on a huge screen was worth the price of admission alone! Bring tissues and Do Not Miss This Movie!

Hugs to all me GALfriends!!

Sure did enjoy seeing Chasing Mavericks yesterday. Like Suzie said, we drove through a severe thunderstorm to the theater. I would only have done that for Gerry! I guess the weather was very appropriate since we were going to see a movie about a wall of water! Posted Image

Work kicked me in the arse today! Posted ImageI was supposed to work from 7am to 3pm, but didn't get off until 9pm! Heavy patient load with high acuity patients! No one available to relieve me at 3, so I had to stay. I started with 9 patients and had 7 discharges, including one I didn't know was going home, for whom the doctor wrote discharge orders after 5pm! No one will have to rock me to sleep tonight! There were only three of us in the theater on Friday, but it was in the middle of a workday with a raging thunderstorm and some flooding of some of the lower-lying areas, so I'm not surprised about that. In fact, there were hardly any customers in the theater at all, no even for other films. I'm sure it's picked up this weekend.

I just returned from seeing Mavericks for the second time. It's better the second time around - seriously. I saw more of the relationship between Jay and Frosty. I cried harder. I hope to see it again on Tuesday. There were about 20 people there today. I think if they had put in a couple of swear words and rated it PG13 - it would have drawn a larger crowd. I love this movie.

Was in Walmart yesterday...I had to stare at this guy several times in the store to be sure he wasn't Gerry. He wasn't, but man I wasn't sure for a few minutes. (After all, Gerry probably left NYC ! ... although he probably went west.) When he first approached my aisle I was like OMG...he had a ball cap on, the beard, the eyes...as he approached I noticed he had the nose...pointed a little bit over his mustache and a little flat at the bottom...as he passed me, I thought he wasn't quite tall enough. Maybe 5' 11 or 6' but not 6'2. (When he passed by, I also did not feel any morning sickness as I would have if it were Gerry, as his passing me would have impregnated me. :faint:) Saw him later in the store, still felt he wasn't tall enough to be Gerry but man, that face. Then I saw him at the checkout. Noticed he pulled diapers out of his cart. Crap...saw a local guy that looks just like Gerry and he's not available either! :p

Saw Chasing Mavericks twice on Friday. I liked it very much and would like to see it again. The only thing I was disappointed in was Frosty's relationship with his own kids. His wife was a saint. I would not have been so easy going about the whole thing. But the movie was about Jay, and of course his relationship with Frosty, so maybe that's why his kids weren't featured more. I was glad they had the scene with the father in law, as he was saying what I was feeling. (Feeling that simultaneously with thinking Gerry looked so hot even in that somber scene.) (Trying not to spoil the scene if someone here hasn't seen it yet...Yeah right, like that's the case!)

But yes, other than that, I really liked the photography, the story, 'his royal hotness', the emotion, the acting, 'his royal hotness', the message and my first time seeing 'his royal hotness' on a BIG SCREEN...Lordy! Did I mention 'his royal hotness'! :yummy:
