The prodigal daughter. I am come home. Life got WAY in the way, things were crazy, but when I needed friends to fall back on, I came back here. Didn't realize how much I missed you guys till just now.

Omg how long has it been? I must go and reacquainted myself with everything. Hope everyone is well. Wow... Lol.

Hi Cassie. I know. Sometimes you just let life get in the way and then time has passed. I'm in the same boat.

So, what a brilliant siggy Kathy, 'Jiko' deserves an Oscar for that. (my spell check just turned siggy into soggy lol).

I'm in the middle of editing an anthology of stories with the theme of change. We had the submission period open from September until 31 January and now I get to read them all and decide which ones go in, get worked on or are rejected. Oh, the pressure. Still, I volunteered (silly me!). We hope to have it ready by October for our writer's group's 20th anniversary.

I'm still writing like fury. I have just 2-3 chapters of my 2nd novel to finish. The first novel is finished but I started it so long ago, and I've learned so much about writing since then, it's now in the proverbial 'trunk'. Maybe one day I will resurrect it and rewrite it.

Anyway, that's one of the reasons I don't post a lot. I'm spending a lot of time at the computer but not drooling over Gerry quite so much. Although I still dreamt of him this morning - I met him at a shopping mall and he said hi, then left. He'd left his phone so I picked it up, followed him and returned it. Then I got that brilliant smile. And then...... the dratted alarm clock went off (ahhhh!). Oh well...

Catch you lovely GALS later.

Big big hugs,

Cat

Cat, I envy you. I have never had a dream with Gerry in it. RATS!!! I would settle for a smile from him. *sigh*

"JIKO" ( Jindra) ia a true artist when it comes to graphics. She not only does siggys but awesome wallpapers as well. You can see her work here on GALS, check it out.

Happy writing! :)

Oh yes, some pictures would be lovely.

I've just checked out Jindra's graphics. They're brilliant. Such talent.

My high school was called St Patricks, so you can see it's an important day to me. This year, as for the past 3 years, we are having a class reunion on 15th March. It's a bit amazing because this year we will be celebrating 50 years since starting high school. Feeling a little ancient. Luckily, the friendships I've renewed are well worth being reminded that time passes.

Hugs to all,

Cat

Oh, Irish, Brayan is doing awesome! He's been diagnosed with asthma and adhd recently, not surprising given his preemie status. He's doing well on needs. A thriving 6 year old monkey! I've also acquired 3 more children through marriage. Andrew(14) and the twins Brett and Cassie (11). They are a lot of fun. My husband Dan and I met online about 5 years ago and has a phantom ish wedding in 2011. When I remember how, I'll post some pics.

Lish, what a wonderful fun loving family you have. Congratulations on your Phantom wedding. COOL! It looks like all of your kids have bonded beautifully. Have a wonderful life together. I see you are from West Des Moines, Iowa. I lived for 25 years in Cedar Falls, Iowa. I raised my two boys there. One still lives in Waterloo, Iowa. It is a great state to raise kids.

Lish, Thanks so much for sharing the pictures of your delightful family. They certainly do look like a lot of fun. So nice to hear you are doing well.

Last year we had a new arrival at our writing group and she is from the USA. She's lived all over but mainly in Michigan. She met her partner online too and came out to Australia to marry him. I think it's wonderful that people can meet this way. Just the way I met most of you GALS too.

Hugs to you and your wonderful family

Cat, I just realized that you live in Australia. I have a good friend who lives in Bilambil Heights, New South Wales. Where are you from? I have learned so much about Australia because of my friend. It is a fascinating country.

Kathy, Hi

Bilambil Heights is up near the Queensland border, about 695 miles from where I live on the NSW South Coast, a place called Broulee. She lives in a place a lot warmer than we do. It's very nice as I've visited nearby. Now you have two friends in Australia. I've put in links to two aerial shots of where I live for you.

I love having friends so far across the ocean. I'm hoping to make the 10th anniversary convention next year. Fingers crossed. I went to the first one and I can't believe that many years have gone by.

Hi Cat! :highfive:

All I can say is....WOW! That is a beautiful location where you live. The water looks so blue! Thanks so much for the pictures. I love getting pictures from Australia. I met my other friend from Australia on GB.net 7 years ago and we have been writing ever since. She has taught me so much and I love your country. Just the variety of birds is amazing but there is so much more to admire. She's into photography so I get some awesome pics, like the ones you just posted.

Lucky you to have gone to the first convention! Is that the one where Gerry was at? I hope you can make the next one. I have never been. It is always at a time when I am traveling.

Thanks again for showing me those pictures! :claphands:

Yes Kathy, it I got to see Gerry in person :multicigs: so the $$$ for the trip were very well spent. Though that was really, really nice, meeting Dr Em (Dayna) and the moderators was brilliant. Spending time with luvphantom (Doris) Attilla Girl (Nancy) was the best part of the visit. We had such a great time and I can't believe it's nearly 10 years.

Funny thing was that when I came back I had so much more confidence. I hated my job but didn't know what to do. After seeing Gerry and being with the GALS I suddenly had the gumption to go consulting and have never looked back. I've always felt Gerry and GALS were responsible for the good things that happened to me afterward.

Cat, what a great story! Sometimes having a great experience makes one more optimistic about their life and gives one the push to make their life even better because everything in life is possible. How lucky were you to see Gerry in person. I wasn't a member at that time, I was still perusing the site but I did see the video later when I became a member 7 years ago. My 7th Gerryversary is Feb. 28th. Gerry's story has given many gals the hope that if Gerry could make his dream come true then so can they.

Yes Lish, started an account late last year for just that purpose. Just $10 a fortnight but it's building. And then I can finally meet you too Elissa YAY!

So true Kathy. What I see in Gerry is the willingness to make sacrifices for ones dreams and to overcome personal challenges. For him it was drinking and smoking. I gave up smoking when he did. It was a great motivator. And also he took calculated risks like moving to LA to build his career and taking on roles like 300. It worked. It's inspiring, like you said.

Go Gerry, Go GALS :cheer2:

Hi Lish, still here. Played golf yesterday and had some friends over so didn't spend time on the computer. I pulled a muscle in my shoulder on the weekend making a bed (urgh!) so didn't play so well but it was a lovely day and the 9 hole walks with a few swings was fun. I decided several years ago not to take golf too seriously or I would go nut LOL.

I'm a happy puppy because Gerry is coming to Australia - to Sydney. Not that I'll get an opportunity to see him but it's nice knowing he's in the country and filming here. He's working with one of my favourite Aussie actors Geoffrey Rush. It's almost worth thinning about doing a bit of a 'groupie' thing and staking the studio but I've never done anything like that and don't think I could do it now.

Hugs

Cat
