Variety reports:

McG Chasing Down ‘Hunter Killer’ for Relativity (Exclusive)

Having already worked together on “3 Days to Kill,” Relativity and McG appear ready to reunite as he is in negotiations to helm the long-in-development “Hunter Killer” for the studio. Neal Moritz and Toby Jaffe are producing from a script by Jamie Moss, John Kolvenbach and Arne Schmidt. Tucker Tooley is exec producing.

Relativity had no comment.

Based on the novel “Firing Point” by Don Keith and George Wallace, the story follows an untested submarine captain who must work with a Navy SEAL team to rescue Russia’s president, taken prisoner during a military coup. The two sides team to stop a rogue Russian general from igniting World War III.

The pic was originally planned for Antoine Fuqua to direct and Gerard Butler to star, but that teaming never materialized as they went on to do “Olympus Has Fallen” instead. That put “Hunter Killer” on the shelf.

Given how happy the studio was with McG on the Kevin Costner pic “3 Days to Kill,” though, it made sense to turn to him on a project they have long wanted to get off the ground.

McG is repped by WME and Management 360.

Thank God Gerry is not involved if Relativity IS! I hope he never works with them again. Sam Childers says Relativity still owes him LOTS of money, so I consider them slimeballs! The foregoing was the opinion of moi and not that of GALS! Yeahright! :whoopdedoo:

Yeah, me too! They got slimballs and they are slime balls too! I never liked the title anyway. I think the title of a story says a lot about it.

I thought Ryan K was a good friend of Gerry's? Wasn't Gerry a best man at his wedding? Then again MGP was a great movie and should have been promoted more and given a wide release and a name change.

I think Gerry attended his wedding but not sure he was "best man" or part of the wedding party. I try not to speculate on Gerry's relationships male or female because chances are, I'd be wrong. Gerry's a friendly guy and probably in his world, to know him is to be a friend as far as he's concerned. I just hate it when those kinds of relationships are taken advantage of. He's a sweet and generous guy.
