Swansong's Dream Come True: Part 1

Recommended Posts

Swan,

I am so happy that you were able to share those special moments with Gerry. He is an amazing man and it is clear from everything I have seen and heard about you that you are an amazing woman as well. You and your son have obviously been through a great deal. The two of you combining your talents to create that beautiful aria I just listened to, that is just such a wonderful thing to share. That song was breathtaking.

I am looking forward to meeting you in person here in Eugene this July!!

All the best~

Kimberly~

Hi Swan,

Finally I managed to get to hear the recording of your song, AND watched the video footage of you and Gerry.

What a haunting, beautiful performance from you, and your son. And winning the award. And receiving the award from The Man himself. I'm so happy for you. Congratulations. ::D:

Beautiful song, beautiful voice, truly ... It was so beautiful I am almost speechless. Thank you so for sharing yourself with us. Was not at the convention....so sorry to have missed you singing this in person. You and Nathan are very talented.

So thrilled you had such a wonderful time meeting Gerry...it was truly a special moment in time.

Swan, I just listened to your beautiful aria again from your link. The song, the music, your singing...so hauntingly beautiful! You just can't help being moved to tears. My hubby walked in from outside as I was listening and he asked me what I was listening to and when I told him, his voice was husky from emotion when he said "It is so beautiful!" It has that kind of magic, sweetie.

Here's what I call a beauty:

Swan -- Listening to you perform that night was incredible. Like so many others have said, I was moved to tears. The words of your song were beautiful and the music that your Nathan composed is beyond amazing. What a talented pair you are. I felt blessed to have witnessed your performance.

I'll post on the second thread about your meeting with Gerry. It was a moment of a lifetime for me to see the look on your face and witness your beautiful and heartfelt reaction.

The picture that hiseyes posted above is stunning. What a beauty you are!

Yes you are...inside and out! I just listened to your aria again, for the first time since the talent show on that Friday night, and was again brought to tears by the haunting beauty of the words and music...and your incredible voice! That music truly has a beauty not of this world, and I am honored to have been sitting next to you that evening as you waited to perform, not feeling well, but willing to do it anyway, for all of us, and for Gerry! Wow, how your determination and dedication paid off..can't wait to hear the finished product!

You and Nathan both exquisitely exemplify my siggy statement below..you make an amazing team!

Hi Alison... your words are so sweet to me. I have just been practicing the Aria again, as I will be singing it for the Oregon Tart's Jam in a couple weeks.

I am hoping to perform it again at next year's Vegas con, only next year... I would like to do it healthy, and not as part of the competition... but just to share it with Gerry's fans.

With the new additions we are purchasing for Nathan's studio... we may have an entire new accompaniment track for that song by next year, because with the new sound library... he will have much more realistic strings, reeds and horns at his fingertips!

The thing that amazes me about Nathan's music, and has from the first piece he ever composed (when he was 14)... is that people ALWAYS say the same thing about it; otherworldly... not of this world... spiritually uplifting.

Believe me when I tell you, that Nathan has always been an isolated and lonely child... and now... he is an isolated and lonely adult with a serious illness... yet somehow... his soul transcends his human condition, and he gives us the music of angels. How does he do that?

I am as amazed by him as you all are.

Beauty from suffering? Roses from ashes? Where does this music come from?

Dear Swan,

We both know where it comes from...the same place from which your equally beautifully lyrics come! He does it because the veil is very thin for those with the level of talent you both possess, making the divine just that much more accessible, and he gives us the music of angels because they are the ones who whisper inspiration into his heart and soul. Many of us forget that "we are not physical beings, having a spiritual experience" but "we are spiritual beings, having a physical experience"! As we get weighed down by the cares and struggles of this life, it's easy to become a little bit "too earthbound in our thinking" and we begin to lose that connection with our Source/God (I'm not afraid to call it what it is!) Suffering can keep us humble--if we allow it; humility makes us grateful, and gratitude--which also leads to humility--is essential for each of us to reach our full potential as human beings. Because Nathan's soul, as you said, "transcends his human condition", he's that much ahead of so many of the rest of us at this stage of our existence.

And one more thing to always remember on your darkest days (which I have learned from my own personal experience)...is that Heavenly Father doesn't send his choicest spirits down to be raised by just anyone, so the fact that Nathan chose you as his parents tells what kind of people you are as well. You are special...never forget it!

Hugs,

Alison

p.s...the new additions to Nathan's studio sound wonderful..can't wait to hear the results!

With all the new fans joining our FANmily.... I thought it was time to :bump22: this thread, so y'all can discover just how wonderful Gerry has been to his fans.

With the blockbuster success of 300.... events like this may be a thing of the past, but I still believe with all my heart, that Gerry will always find other ways of reaching out to his fans.

Those of us who attended Vegas last year, will never forget his generosity of spirit in paying us a surprise visit.... and knowing encounters like these will become ever more rare, makes that spectacular moment all the sweeter.

To all you lovely newbies.... Go to the first post.

At last Swannie, I could hear this Chanson de l'Ange that I know only by writing. I listened it this evening just before to go to bed, and it will escort me during my dreams. Your voice is beautiful, and you deserve the Butler's award you won in Las Vegas in 2006 ! Your son's music is very very dreamly and deep ... It touchs the heart ! Thank you to share the music and the lyrics with us !

Bénédicte
