FIRST COAST TART
...... I live in northeast Florida where each geographical area along its coasts have regional nicknames. The Kennedy Space Center area is called the "Space Coast"..... western coastal areas are part of the "Gulf Coast"..... there's the "Palm Coast", etc. The motto for my city is: "Jacksonville - Where Florida Begins". And being a part of the first (or northern-most) coastal area along Florida's east coast, we're known as the "First Coast". ......Paula
BlackVelvet
-=Bl@ck_VelveT=- is the same for Black Velvet. I've been using it for years. At the very beginning of this story there was this song from '90s by Alannah Myles - "Black Velvet". The phrase just stuck into my mind. Than the rest of the story is connected with my cat, he's black and white. He has such a lovely black nose that when you touch it it feels like velvet. So I've started callin' him this way. Oh, I love my kitty so much! The phrase just filled everything around me and I couldn't resist it!

givemeabeach
madforgerard, love your name. . . straight to the point, and that is the heart of what we are all about here at GALS. Paula, I love the explanation for your First Coast Tart name. I wasn't aware that Florida had regional nicknames for the various locations along the coastline. Cool!!! As you can see from my online name, I can relate to living on the coast or at least having a desire to live on the coast. Unfortunately, I'm landlocked in Memphis, TN. But, my heart will always belong on a beach. Beachie

I couldn't find the right word to describe him His belly, neck & paws are white... looks like he's wearing a tuxedo. The coloration is so symmetrical... with the exception of his nose. My cat is the same except for a bit of white on her nose. She is a very sweet, loving cat, and the only cat that has ever allowed me to stroke her belly. Have you been enjoying all the Latest News about Gerry that's being posted on GALS? Gerry is really looking good, and he is so funny to watch when he does interviews. I loved him on the Leno's Tonight Show last night. If your not sure where to look, go to the first page of GALS, and look under the heading, The Butler News. There are two links, one for News -- for the latest interviews, stories and articles about Gerry, and the other for Pics/Vids -- for the lastest info that includes pics and videos. BTW, BV, have you dropped by the GALS Support Center. I think you would enjoy posting in there. Its where a lot of the GALS hang out to share what's happening in their lives, etc. You can meet and make friends. And, if you're having trouble with finding things on site, you will find people always willing to direct you to what you need or to whom can help you. Nice to talk with you BV. Knight Phantom
I totally forgot about this thread Here is my original post from '07. At that time I didn't have a GALS Name, but over time it has grown. Also I have been asked where some of my names came from. So, here we go; Man where have I been? (does the Fifth Cellar ring any bells?) Anyway...I just found this and since people have asked where my name came from, thought I'd put the story here. Knight Phantom originally started out as KnightCrusader on SciFi.com. I am a member there on the Forever Knight board. When I joined I tried to incorporate the main character's names (Nicholas Knight- Nicholas de Brabant). He is a 13th century Vampire living in Toronto, who in his Mortal life was a crusader for the Church. Hence KnightCrusader- which was turned into one word b/c I hated the underscore we had to use to separate words. I have used it for all the boards I joined until I came here. At the time I joined GALS, Erik had pretty much taken over so I dropped the Crusader and added Phantom with the now acceptable space in between. Gerry's name was added to show my love for all three. So there you have it...Gerry's Knight Phantom Full GALS name: Knight Phantom; Erik's Steadfast Warrior, Protector of the Master's Ring, Writer of Love Letters; PA to Galen Donovan; Keeper of Gerry's Pants; Erik's Drrty Paphian Piggy, Plank Holder in the GALS Siggy Piggy Club; Gerry's Henna Hen; Sarkie Ho; Gerry's "Ask her!" GAL Erik's Steadfast Warrior- Given to me by Swannie for my fighting for all things Erik Protector of the Master's Ring- For the gold ring I wear in Erik's honor Writer of Love Letters- Something I do in the Lair PA to Galen Donovan- Personal Assistant for my Mandoll Keeper of Gerry's Pants- See Vegas '08 Erik's Drrty Paphian Piggy- My Siggy Piggy name, Plank Holder in the GALS Siggy Piggy Club- Originator of the term Siggy Piggy Gerry's Henna Hen- I have very red hair Sarkie Ho- I can be very sarcastic Gerry's "Ask her!"- Given to me by Gerry
Guest
ScreenName- Phantom Okay how did i get the Phantom, i will tell you.... *phantoms voice* Before i came on here, i am the type of GAL that is most of the time ignored or people pretend that i am not there. Most of the time my friends are wondering where am i, or why is amanda not here? I made alot of people curious of why i am not there. I feel like i can relate to Gerard's character the Phantom in 2004, or like in those fanfics. I am quiet as a mouse and pretty much no one can hear me, see me, or even notice i am there. I feel like i am Phantom in real life, but i did scare some people. I did that to my mother once when she was going through the same door that i was using and out of no where she just jumped. I didnt mean to scare me mum but hey, never know what is behind the door, lol. But, most of the time, i hide from people that i am scared of or dont want to be bothered like the Phantom.. I know its weird but i even scared my sister couple times So i dont scare them on purpose its just that i like being not noticed, i am more comfortable in the Phantom's shoes. so pretty much i feel like i have a connection with the real Phantom. GAL NAME: Okay, how to explain this one? I will try my best so here it goes.... The reason why i chose this GAL NAME: Phantom's Angel Of Music because i felt that i was the Phantom and i remember telling my fiance that he's my Angel Of Music. He inspired me and he was my reason to come out into the light Edited July 1, 2010 by Guest

may
The first time I ever joined a Gerry fan site it was the Warner Bros Phantom of the Opera Board and went under the name of my gym locker number (not very original). Then I used my middle name here "May" because there were two many Debbie's and I never liked that name anyways...On most other sites I used 02bher the 02 is for February my birthday the b for Barclay my last name and the her was in reference to Christine in the movie of Phantom of the Opera...Hence 02bher! Then they asked me to choose a Butler-gal handle so I chose 02bhis Gal...we all know who "his" is referring to here...right? Sounds complicated; but better than some numbers on an old gym locker though.

FluffyCloud
There's reasons behind my name..... stupid as it may be. The last things my Dad said to me before he passed away, "Happiest Day of my life was the day you where born. Never Be afraid of who you are and always AIM FOR THE SKY and you can achieve anything you want. I love You." I left him that night thinking about what he said, he died three days later during that time he was unable to speak. The words Aim for the Sky always stick with me. It gives me courage to do the things I want to do... Like a cloud I drift through life happily doing my own thing, like everyone I can get a little stormy, I can go barely unnoticed unless really looked at. I can create beauty and yet my stormy ways can distruct. I can be low, I can be high. I can disappear entirely if I wish, or I can be the centre of attention. Am I confusing or what? My GALS/PALS nickname explains itself really lol. xxStephaniexx Edited August 12, 2011 by FluffyCloud

We lost mom at 66 from Lung cancer so dad is especially important to us now. Time passes and with it many loved ones who; at the time; while "living" our lives with school schedules and work and other daily problems we forgot to make a special effort to keep in touch...only after it was too late did we realize;"Life is not a rehearsal"... We look at family camping films (with no voices) and tapes of "jam" sessions around the table on Christmas and other special occasions and wonder; where did the time go? When I watch Chevy Chase's movie "Lampoon Christmas vacation" and see him locked up in his attic watching old 8mm movies and crying; it make me just as nostalgic for days gone by; missed opportunities to say "I love you" to those we held dear....sigh

Tiny Anya
Ok, I'll tell... The reason for using the words 'Tiny' or 'Tiny Lady' as a prefix to my name is as an honour to my dearest friend who I'll never forget. He is rather tall and used to call me his Tiny Lady. I have lost touch with him over the years, but if God in Heaven wills, I shall meet him again. He was one of those rare people who is there for you without asking for anything in return. I could get away with saying anything to him. He even taught me to be naughty (with words only, thank you, lol). xx A Edited January 26, 2012 by Tiny Anya

dmsiren
This is insanely interesting! I've been reading this topic forever, so I will add mine now! Well, first, it has nothing at all to do with Gerard Butler! It's just one that a friend gave me for the first message board I was ever on and I love it so I've had it this whole time, wherever I go. Username: dmSiren I am a huge Depeche Mode fan, have been for years. DM is, obviously, an abbreviation of Depeche Mode. I am also a reader, and being so I have several favorite authors. One of my top 3 would be Kurt Vonnegut. And my favorite book by him is titled, "The Sirens of Titan". I mean, you would have to read the book to truly understand why I like the idea of being called one of Vonnegut's sirens from that book, but it has amazing personal meaning to me. Not just the Greek Siren. But at any rate, that is were the Siren part comes from. Maybe Gerry is a fan of one or both of those things, but that would be the relavants it would have to him or regarding him! I hope I don't loose any GB cred!!
