HOW TO: Clear Cookies and Cache

Recommended Posts

First, I would suggest clearing just your cache. Here's a quick explanation and how to clear in both Internet Explorer and Firefox.

Restart your computer after this is done, just to ensure it's 'taken'. Then reopen GALS and see if you get our 'new' pages with the Convention icons, etc.

If you still don't, then clear the cookies.

This should solve the 'problem'...it's easy, don't fret : :D:

What is browser cache?
Browser cache (also known as Temporary Internet files) stores the content of all the web pages that you have visited (including pictures, animation, movies, other downloads, etc) during a session. This speeds up the displaying of pages you frequently visit as a web browser can open them from your hard disk instead of downloading them from the web.

•How can I clear cache?
Storing cache files can make browsing the web faster because it usually takes your computer less time to display a web page when it can open page's elements or even the entire page from your local Temporary Internet Files folder. However, it can threaten your privacy because everyone who has access to your computer can see some personal information - by simply opening the cache file/folder (Temporary Internet Files), anyone can see what videos you've watched, what pictures you've seen, where you've been online and more. To safeguard your information, you should clear cache regularly.

I think I could probably vote for Gerry again in that one poll if I did that. I just hate signing in everywhere again. :tantrum:

Yup I am too lazy! :faint:

Love,

Tracy

Firefox no longer offers the option of clearing cookies, at least not on my computer.

Yes it does - and my cookies are all gone!
