PLEASE READ: Additional Posting Guidelines

Dr. Em, posted this August 15, 2006, in Messages from Administration.

I have copied them here, as they are good to keep in mind while we enjoy our time on the board here at GALS:

My Dear GALS and PALS ~

As our site becomes larger and larger, there will naturally be a myriad of personalities, backgrounds, religions, etc. As in life, we naturally gravitate toward those who we feel some sort of kinship with and possibly away from others that just plain and simple rub us the wrong way. While this is expected, we need to make a couple of things very clear.

#1 - If you have an issue with someone on the board, please do not ever make it public. In other words, do not post your issue on the board. Deal with it privately via PM's or e-mails. If you air your dirty laundry or feelings on the board, your post will be promptly deleted. No questions asked. We have run a relatively drama-free site and we want it to stay that way.

#2 - Don't expect your Moderators. and/or Administrators to take care of the problem. We ask all of our members to deal with their own issues as adults. However, if there are threats or anything of this nature, please do let us know immediately so that we can deal with it appropriately.

#3 - Be fair. Sometimes posts can be misconstrued. While talking with someone face-to-face or on the phone, you can hear the tone of someone's voice, their inflections, etc. On chat or on the forum, we lose that. Please be aware that most times people do not mean to offend. Don't automatically assume the worst, but give the other person the benefit of the doubt. After all, isn't this what you would want others to do for you?

#4 - Be respectful always. We have prided ourselves in having a site that, while goofy, sometimes irreverent and silly, we always want to be known for being respectful to everyone. Just please remember the Golden Rule, "Do unto others as you would want them to do unto you." If you remember this, we would never have any drama and the problems in the Middle East would be solved as well and we would truly have world peace....*sigh*

In closing, we love our members and just want to have a peaceful, fun, and respectful site - a home to come to when your world may be crashing in around you, a place to share your good times and bad, and to make lifelong friends. Following the four above rules will go a long way in assuring we have just that.
