Erika_Kire
Some of you may be aware that I do fostering for cats and dogs as well as animal rescue. I'll keep this short: Last Monday I drove 258 miles to Central Illinois to rescue 4 Lab puppies and an adult male Lab from being put to sleep the following morning. I also drove away with a Beagle named Cara, who is six years old and has spent her whole life most likely as a breeding dog. She had no rescue group to take her in but I couldn't drive away and know she'd be put to sleep. Unfortunately, at the vet the next day she tested positive for heartworms. She's also got an ear infection and has liver problems from the heartworms. This is a very, very sweet and gentle girl. Her medical expenses are now over 300 dollars but we're doing everything we can to give her a chance at being a loved and appreciated pet, not a mill for puppies. Please keep Cara in your thoughts. If you'd like to help contribute even five dollars to her medical bills and hopefully complete recovery there is a paypal account set up for her. The address is Everspringnative@aol.com and anything left over will be going to PAWS Chicago (Chicago's largest no-kill shelter), Treasured Friends Animal Rescue, and Lab Connection Animal Rescue of Wisconsin and Northern Illinois. For a picture of my "Cara Boo" click here http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y16/Gabrina/CaraBoopic1.jpg and please, please, plese think good thoughts for her. She needs the world behind her! :inlove:
