Meet the Staff LuvphantomModerator Risa (Luvphantom) discovered Gerry on the 27th December 2004. She had gone through some pretty bad times, mentally and physically and felt in desperate need of some distraction. Having always loved the story and the stage musical of POTO, she just thought "lets have a look what they have finally made of this story" and went to see the movie. 2 1/2 hours later her life had changed, the movie had been like a kick in her ass, making her cry for a week, letting out everything and then starting to heal. Her "healing process" resulted in 22 more times of seeing POTO in the cinema, and a Google search for the actor whose portrayal of Erik had touched her so deeply. She ended up on her first ever internet forum, then on the official movie website of POTO and finally on a GB website where she met the GALS. After having purchased all available Gerry DVD's there was only one left: Dracula. She hates horror flicks, but she couldn't resist. That was the point when she finally admitted to having GALS. That had been June 2005. If she hadn't already been persuaded that Gerry was a fantastic actor, after seeing The Jury and Dear Frankie she would have. When this website was openend she became the first European member, of which she is still quite proud. Since then she spends entirely too much time on the internet, but loves it. The GALS have become a second family and she shares their affliction for the sexy, handsome Scotsman. Under the intense care and treatment by Dr. Em and other GALS, as well as her sister in law, she lost her initial shyness and started to dive headlong into the sexy banter and talk about Gerry. In June 2006, despite being scared as hell, she hopped on a plane (her first time ever trip outside Europe) to be at the Vegas Convention in honour of Gerry. To say, she enjoyed her stay there would be an understatement. She had the time of her life, meeting a bunch of wonderful generous women, taking a trip to the Grand Canyon, crying in Dr.Em's arms watching the fountains at the Bellagio and last but definitely not least seeing Gerry in person. She can still hear Dr.Em telling her "I told you, you would regret it, if you didn't come". The whole Vegas experience has given her a boost, from which she still lives on. Risa works for a book wholesaler as the trade book buyer in the English/American department. She loves books and reads as much as she can and is also member of an amateur theatre group, where she has so far played various roles from a farmer girl to a snobby middle aged lady. She loves all kind of music and has been taking Jazz-Dancing lessons for several years. When she was a teenager, she spent 4 1/2 months in England to learn English and fell in love with the language and everything celtic. She is the proud owner of an original costume from POTO, which she won at an E-Bay auction in December. Together with the Erik-Doll, her sister in law made for her, the costume is now prominently displayed in her living room. |
