  3. So lucky that you were able to see the movie about Gerry being a agent of the white house. I have it ordered from amazon. Not able to be in big crowds right now, so am very anxious for it to come on DVD...will enjoy it then with our family...He is such a wonderful human being and a great actor. My hubby and I have seen every movie he has made. He is super versitile in his acting. One that many have not seen is: ONE MORE KISS...so well done and DEAR FRANKIE...also just a lovely story. You might have to watch it a couple times, because he speaks with his Scottish accent..others that are great are Phantom, 300, Law Abiding Citizen...each one is so different from the other...he definitely should get a shinny award some day for all the different characters he has played...magnificient actor...check into some of those movies, you will be delighted..Hugs, Donna Jean and George and clan

  4. Roger Dubuis very proud of our Ambassador, #GerardButler, for the brilliant start of his latest movie 'Olympus has fallen'!

Heavy Water Presented By Chasing Mavericks: Gerard Butler Interview

Catching Up With The Star Of Chasing Mavericks—An Upcoming Film Based On The True Story Of Jay Moriarty Gerard Butler, the Scottish-born actor most famous for his leading role in the movie 300, recently took on the task of playing Frosty Hesson (the legendary big-wave surfer from Northern California), in Hollywood's forthcoming film titled Chasing Mavericks. In the process, he garnered a newfound respect for the surfing lifestyle. Oh, and he almost died.—Zander Morton

TransWorld SURF: How long have you been surfing?

Gerard Butler: I surfed when I was 17-years old for about 15 minutes with my cousins who lived in San Clemente. I was just this kid from Scotland, and I felt so humiliated that I didn't go back in the water for another 18 years. But when this movie came along, I thought it'd be a perfect opportunity to get into surfing and tell an incredible tale about the surfing world, a surfer's psyche, and at the same time train with some of the best f—king surfers in the world.

What kind of training did you do to prepare for this role?

To get my stamina up, I did long-distances paddleboarding and then basically just surfing—learning how to be on a board, do turns, get up on a wave… really just learning how to look like I knew what I was doing. It was a lot in a short time, and I did say to myself, "What the f—k have I got myself into?" But I operate best like that. If I know my back is up against the wall, then that's what kicks me into action. Fear is a huge motivator for me. I went up to Santa Cruz and surfed with Frosty, the character I'm playing. I was just getting in the water and learning to deal with different types of conditions and different types of waves. One of the big things I wanted to do was to learn to tow-in. I was secretly hoping I could tow at Mavericks, which is what I ended up doing. We had a couple days where I got towed into a few waves and I was thinking, "Holy s**t, I'm surfing Mavericks, I can't believe it!" It was maybe the coolest thing I've ever done.

That's quite a quick ascent, from a beginner straight to towing Mavericks.

Oh yeah, and I learned surfing is a thing that consumes people's lives. When I got into it, I understood why. These guys are the furthest thing away from "dudes" or "f—kheads," they are so smart and down-to-earth. Maybe my favorite thing about the movie was the surfers I met and spent time with. Surfing is not a well-paid sport, and surfers give up a lot. I'm really glad that I had a chance to get involved. When I saw those surf scenes I thought, "Maybe people that aren't close to the surfing world will understand and not think that I'm a little softy getting taken down by these waves and getting taken to the hospital." When they see the waves in this movie, they'll go, "Now I can understand why something like that would happen."

Thanks for the article and pictures..Gerry B always puts his heart and sole into every part he plays. My hubby and I have seen everything he has done since we first saw him in Phantom of the Opera...Each part he really becomes the character...Great actor for sure....One of our favorites is DEAR FRANKIE...but we watched it twice because Gerry's wonderful accent was delightful, so we enjoyed watching it twice. Such a lovely story..too bad they didn't follow it up and made it a happy, happy ending with them all getting together..anyway, if anyone has not seen it, take time out and you will be soooo pleansantly surprised...this was one of his first movies..just delightfully sweet...another one that is really good is called ONE MORE KISS...so sensitive and his acting was absolutely outstanding.

Hugs, Donna Jean and George and clan

Hi Irish (Sue), Believe it or not I am still surviving...still treating for hodgkins and in meantime, had another type of cancer a mastectomy, BUT THIS OLD BIRD is still hanging on and again thanks you so much for my avatar and signature which my hubby and I love. We watch UGLY TRUTH every so often, because it is just plain fun...as I mentioned some of the ladies, etc. that used to be on other sites, have a group on Facebook.com called KNUCKLEHEADS. very small we just say HI and a few little greetings and wishing each other Happy birthday, etc. everyone so busy..anyway, I enjoy coming into this group every so often in between my treatments, etc. We have another little grandchild...a little girl a wee bit over a year old...these little ones keep us going. Hope your family is doing well....all our best wishes to you and yours...hugs, Donna Jean and George and clan

  10. :detect: Hey; it says that the Trailer is unavailable for my area?Oh okay I got it on youtube! By the way; who dies in the movie; the instructer or the student? It is based on a true story isn't it?

    2222222@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

Just so anxious to see anything that Gerry B. has made. Last movies we saw and gave as gifts were Machine Gun Preacher and Coriolanus...seems like ages ago. Regarding Gerry B.'s accent. When first My hubby George and I saw DEAR FRANKIE, we had to watch it several times because of Gerry's thick accent. It seems a wee bit easier to understand him now...It has been since 2005 The Phantom of the Opera, that we first saw him...we have seen every movie he ever made, even the ones with him in them for a minute or so....he he he...We are long time fans...Phantom will always be our favorite because that is the movie that introduced us to wonderful, crazy Gerry B.

I bet you could find all his old movies on NETFLIX...haven't looked because we bought them all as they came out and passed them out over the years as gifts for family and friends...Can hardly wait for his new MOVIES...yipppy for Gerry and tons of good luck.

hug, old time fans, Donna Jean and George and our clan

P.S. PEIGI, and several of us are on Facebook as KNUCKLEHEADS...a small group...easier to communicate with smaller groups...I really don't go into the original GerardButler.net...can't find anything in there, but do enjoy this group GerardButlergals.com easier to communicate...anyway...we have a mall group of fans on KNUCKLEHEADS on facebook...just placing short messages every so often, that is all...DJ and Geo and clan I think the student dies, for a change Gerry doesnt die, thank goodness...he he he...

  11. :music:

We agree he is an excellent actor. sooooo...... talented, so make something that we FANS can enjoy...pleaseeeeeeee. hugs :tantrum:\

  12. The last time we checked in on the latest developments with the "300" sequel, Warner Bros. ended the "is this movie ever happening?" debate by finally announcing that "300: Battle of Artemisia" will hit theaters on August 2, 2013.

That leaves really only one lingering question: What about Gerard Butler? Since the actor was pretty much at the center of the original film in the role of King Leonidas, it's only right to wonder where he might fit in a sequel. Butler has always maintained that he'd be interested in a "300" follow-up — if the timing and the script were right.

But unfortunately, MTV News can now confirm that Butler will not be making an appearance as Leonidas, after all.

"Oh, yeah, I'm not doing it," Butler told us when we caught up with him for early scoop on his surfing drama "Chasing Mavericks" and possible involvement in "Battle for Artemisia."

"They're filming [the '300' sequel] right now. I wish them the best, but it didn't [work out]. It wasn't really my thing."

"Battle for Artemisia" is based on Frank Miller's graphic novel "Xerxes" and will revolve around the Persian leader's (Rodrigo Santoro) struggle to become a god, as well as his battles with Greek warlord Themistocles (Sullivan Stapleton) and Artemesia (Eva Green), all of whom are based on actual historical figures. We're partial to Green's ballsy and badass Artemesia because she took over ruling duties for her husband after his death and went on to command an entire armada.

In the meantime, fill your Gerard Butler action-movie void by checking him out hanging 10 in "Chasing Mavericks," opening October 26.

  14. Sorry, I think I wrote my response in the wrong section. Anyway, am waiting, waiting waiting so anxiously to see something that Gerry Butler has made...I will buy for family and friends when the movies come out. Because I have cancer still, not allowed to go where big crowds are, so have to wait until they come out on DVDs, but that's OK, just want to enjoy his great movies...they are always fun and do well with his faithful fans. Have enjoyed Gerry since my hubby took me to see Phantom of the Opera years ago....Have seen every movie he ever made and all of them are GREATTTTT...he is a terrific actor and personality and deserves loads of success. This time I think I placed this note in the right place...Thank God for IRISH who made my signature and avatars...Loved that movie and watch it at home every so often with my hubby George, who also enjoys all of GB's movies...lucky for me :tantrum:

(Fall Movie Preview Double Issue #1220/1221 August 17/24, 2012)

Gerard Butler wasn't an expert surfer when he agreed to play Frosty Hesson, the mentor of late surfing icon Jay Moriarity (Jonny Weston), in an inspirational 1990s-set biopic. ''I'd only surfed two or three times before,'' says the Scottish star of 300 and The Ugly Truth. But Butler quickly found a passion for riding the waves — even after a horrific wipeout during shooting landed him in the hospital (he was released after spending a night under observation). ''I wanted to go right back out there,'' he says. ''I think I was in shock. Looking back now, I'd be a little less gung ho. (On-line here

Waiting, waiting, waiting for anything of Gerry Butler's to come out...Last thing I bought for us and family was Corliolanus and Machine Gun Preacer....so anxious ot see something that he is playing in. Where has he been...no sign of him anywhere anymore....Anyway, wish him tons of good luck with new movies and can hardly wait to buy them and give them as gifts..to family and friends...

  16. Happy for Gerry and company. We his fans, just want to see him in movies. I already have Machine Gun Preacher and Corilanus and have enjoyed them and sent them as gifts, but miss seeing him. Just anything that he is in would be great to see. How about something about him in the Entertainment Magazine or People, so we know where to look to find out when his movies will be coming out. Gerry make some appearances and let us All know where you will be....We your fAns miss you. maybe even a late night show so we could get a glimpse of you for a change. he he he...Well, anyway, good luck with whatEVER....

Donna Jean and George and clan...patiently waiting for something

  17. I really didn't know who any of those people where....BUT even if I did, I would still vote for Gerry, which I did..he he he

Hope he wins...he always looks terrific...Can hardly wait until we get Machine Gun Preacher and Coriolanus...and anything else he will be making that will be coming out SOON...lordy it has been sooooo long

Hugs, Donna Jean and George and clan :tantrum::kiss:

  18. Peigi (Peggy)

Everything looks just sooooo beautiful...It is wonderful what all of the ladies have done to enrich Gerry's forests...I hope he has had a chance to see the beautiful forests...He must be so proud of all of the wonderful fans that contributed and made everything simply GORGEOUS.

hugs, Donna Jean and George Montalbano and clan :wave::wuv:

Hi Peigi (Peggy) believe it or not I tried to get into the other site

I used GerardButler.net but for some reason doesn't work...have they change it or is it my computer???

  19. Just added info to News: Machine Gun Preacher has been assigned a June 5 release date on Blu-ray and DVD by Fox Home Entertainment. Fox is bringing the Relativity Media film to Blu-ray in 1080p video and 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio. Bonus features will include a feature-length commentary at minimum, with additional extras not yet detailed. Source:yay:

    Hi there,

It seems like FOREVER since we have seen Sweet Gerry...I think it was some awards show that we last got to see him and his great sense of humor. Lordy this has been a long, long, SPELL to wait for his movies. I am signed up for Machine Gun Preacher and Corliolanus...Yes, I received a notice from Amazon.com telling me it should be shipped by June 5 for Machine Gun Preacher...I am not allowed to go to theaters because of treating for cancer, so I have to wait until we can see it on our 60 inch screen we bought about a month ago. Just before last Christmas someone broke into our house and stoled our 47 inch TV and stoled by little jewelry treasures I had for years and a few other things. Anyway, we received some money from the insurance company and saved the rest and bought this wonderful 60 inch TV, hanging on our wall..Now I can see everything that comes out in DVDs since I can't go to the movie shows because of the cancer. Anyways, we are anxiously awaiting the blueray DVD of Machine Gun Preacher and Corliolanus...It really is soooooo long since we have seen Gerry B. Hope all of his movies come out about the same time...happily awaiting to see them. June 5th is the date they sent me the notification for...

Those nasty people who stoled our other big TV, I hope they never get a decent PIX on it...he he he...Thieves will never EVER have any good luck for sure... :tantrum::wave: Donna Jean and George and clan

    AND NOW.... the original thread.

Being the compassionate person that I am, I can recognize a cry for help when I see one. Having said that, I have decided to start a new support group for those of us with Gerry Addicted Lust Syndrome - from now on, all with Gerry Addicted Lust Syndrome will be known as GALS.

This group is open to all GALS and non-GALS alike who believe they are in serious need of support and guidance as they realize how serious their addiction has become. This is not a support group which advocates traditional intervention, as the failure rate would be astronomical, but merely a group whom you can turn to who share in your addictions or withdrawals, whichever the case may be. Some of the signs that you have GALS include, but are not limited to:

    1. You buy every magazine on the rack looking for photos or articles of Gerry and start to get the jitters when there has been no sign of him for weeks.

    2. You drive 500 miles to see a Gerry movie.

    3. Your significant other (or just someone you're dating) gives you stark reminders they are SOOOO NOT Gerry.

    4. Co-workers, friends and/or family start teasing you for your addiction people can be so cruel...

    5. You become addicted to caffeine because you can't pull yourself away from GALS...."'cause just MAYBE he'll be on Chat tonight."

    6. You obsess with much glee, "Gerry has a computer...and he knows how to use it!!!!"

    7. You find yourself asking aloud, "Did he REALLY mean what he said about the 3:00 a.m. thing and does he REALLY wear a size 11 shoe?" Then smile broadly.

    8. You catch yourself speaking in a Scottish accent for no apparent reason.

    9. You change the decor in your bathroom to accommodate your new yellow towels.

    10. The "G-Spot" takes on a whole new meaning.

    11. You spend days wondering why a Scot would be named "Andre."

    12. You buy "Mrs. Brown" just for the skinny-dipping scene and play that one scene in slow mo and super slow mo, over and over and over again. (Okay, so maybe that was just me.) :D

    13. You have a picture of Gerry in your wallet, and refer to him as "your man, Gerry."

    14. You spend your hard-earned cash assigned for other "non-essential" items (phone bill, power bill, etc.) on essential Gerry related items.

    15. You go shopping for your "real-life" man and finding yourself thinking, "OMG!!! Gerry would look so :censored: hot in that!!!"

    16. You have to buy a new hard drive to accommodate all your pics and videos of Gerry.

    17. You search through a couple hundred $5.50 DVDs at Wal-Mart because an employee said Dracula 2K might be there.

    18. You can't possibly walk past Starbucks without dreaming that maybe... *sighs*

    19. You refer to the Gerry wallpaper on your computer as your "happy place."

    20. While looking up at the clouds you SWEAR there's a cloud in the shape of a "G"...funny thing is, the GAL next to you sees the same thing!!!

    21. Multiples (Gerrygasms) are an every day occurrence!!!

This list will continue to grow as you tell me your addictions...

Below is a very simple 10-step program to help foster our addiction.

    1. You must admit you have GALS. This is so important to further your addiction. Yes, this support group wants to nourish your addiction, not starve it. We are here for you.

    2. Come to believe the Great and Powerful Gerry is greater than ourselves and only our visions and/or fantasies can keep us addicted. To truly become addicted, however, one must at one time in ones life made the Gerry Mecca Journey (GMJ) and meet him in person.

    3. Make a decision to turn our will and lives over to our addiction to Gerry.

    4. Make a searching and fearless immoral inventory of our fantasies of Gerry.

    5. Lend your support to those who have GALS, but are yet unable to admit it.

    6. Watch every movie (more than once) in which Gerry has a role. To be truly addicted, you must develop a love of all Gerry genres (yes, this includes "Tale of the Mummy" and "Dracula 2000").

    7. Frequently quote lines from Gerry films. Memorize them, use them, replace old phrases with new Gerry lines. This will prove to all your serious commitment to your addiction.

    8. Know Gerry's biography better than you know your own. True GALS will know all Gerry's trivia. Study it, soak it in, become one with Gerry's biography.

    9. Give generously (money folks) to the website which has fostered your addictions and allowed your fantasies to take flight.

    10. Convert all who are convertible to this syndrome. This is the true mark of GALS. Do not judge - for your next recruit may be your boss!

As this is a relatively new Syndrome, the above guidelines are subject to editing, amending or scrapping all together as we GALS deem necessary.

The first step to true addiction is to admit you have GALS!! I will begin the group.

"My name is Dr. Em and I have GALS."

All are welcome to join in our group. GALS, we must not suffer in silence!!! We now have a voice!!! Let it be heard!

*Disclaimer: We GALS appreciate not only Gerry's royal hotness for which there is no rival, we indeed, also recognize his abundance of talent, soul, passion, spirit, sense of style and humor, sincerity...can I stop now? Our addictions are all-encompassing and we embrace Gerry EVERY WHICH WAY WE CAN!!!*

To Cleobethra for our "Warning Label."

Gerry always looks great. Such a wonderful human being. My hubby and I wish him tons of luck and know he will be just fine. His family is so good and always backs him up...I ordered Machine Gun Preacher. Can hardly wait to see it...Miss his movie always. hugs and best blessings to that wonderful man Gerry (Gerard) Butler...Donna Jean and George and our clan wishing him the best of good wishes...Can hardly wait to get his DVD.

    Hello!

That's great news!!! It's exciting!!!!! Another interesting role!!!! I love it!!!!

    Josée

Never EVER fear, Gerry B. will get plenty of ladies wanting to play opposite him....He is super talented and can walk and chew gum...at the same time....This man will always be given parts because he is so talented....he he he...There are not that many masculine men in Hollywierd...he is definitely one of them...With his pain we can understand how easily when your in pain, it is easy to get caught up with pain medication...It happens to many people, but they are not as OPEN about it as Gerry is....Good luck and may all your parts be in movies that we HIS FANS can soon see our favorite....I have Amazon.com and am waiting for Machine Gun Preacher and Corliolanus...

    Luck to Gerry always...

Donna Jean and George and clan

  23. Did I somehow miss this. Been in and out of Docs offices and missed coming on. If they did the Poker thingy. Hope it was successful. Gerry can do almost anything. Anxious to see some of his movies. On the list on Amazon.com for Machine Gun Preacher and Coriolanus. Hope they are coming soon. Not allowed while treating to go to movie show...waiting for DVDs..

Hugs :tantrum::kiss: Donna Jean and George and clan
